MONOCLE AUREUM - Limited 35

Officially entered as a competing watch in the 2026 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Essential category, the Grandeur Monocle Aureum represents an ambitious expression of independent American watchmaking. It brings together three world-first achievements spanning its time display, case construction, and winding mechanism.

At its heart is Grandeur’s patent-pending JumpFlap™ Hour Module. The proprietary display features a moving hour aperture that travels through a 30-degree arc over the course of 60 minutes before snapping back instantaneously as the next hour appears. This action is synchronized with the sweeping retrograde minute indication positioned below, creating a theatrical yet highly intuitive presentation of time.

Meteorite is used throughout the Monocle Aureum as both an artistic signature and a functional mechanical material. The hour ring and the surface surrounding the retrograde mechanism reveal the natural Widmanstätten pattern formed within the meteorite over millions of years. Because this crystalline structure is unique to every section of the material, no two Monocle Aureum watches can ever be identical.

Powering the display is a meticulously re-engineered Hangzhou Caliber 5000A automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivering approximately 40 hours of power reserve. Its winding system incorporates the world’s first micro-rotor precision-crafted from meteorite—transforming an ancient extraterrestrial material into an active mechanical component.

The 42 mm × 10 mm titanium case features an exhibition sapphire caseback and an integrated meteorite case ring bored directly from a solid block of meteoritic stone—another world-first achievement. This technically demanding construction allows the Monocle Aureum to deliver exceptional mechanical density while maintaining an elegant and remarkably slim profile.

Water-resistant to 30 meters and presented on a black leather strap, the Monocle Aureum balances mechanical innovation with refined everyday wearability. Limited to only 35 individually numbered pieces, it is a rare union of patented engineering, extraterrestrial material, and contemporary haute horlogerie.
